Kana Music will be releasing volume 1 of legendary shonen anime Saint Seiya to vinyl later this year. Saint Seiya was illustrated by Masami Kurumada, and was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1986 to 1990, with the chapters collected and published into 28 tankobon volumes. The series follows the adventures of five young warriors who are granted the powers of the Greek gods and sworn to protect Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war.
The anime adaptation of Saint Seiya was produced by Toei Animation and aired on TV Asahi from 1986 to 1989. The series was a huge success in Japan and around the world, and it helped to popularize anime in the West.
The main composer for the series was Seiji Yokoyama who also composed for popular shows such as Space Pirate Captain Harlock. The limited edition vinyl release of the Saint Seiya Volume 1 soundtrack is scheduled to release November 2023. We’ll update as we get more information pertaining to this anticipated release.
