Popular isekai anime Overlord will see a vinyl release of its soundtrack courtesy of French label Kana Music.
Overlord is an anime series based on the light novel of the same name by Kugane Maruyama. The story follows Momonga, a powerful wizard who finds himself trapped in a virtual reality game world after the game’s servers shut down. With his consciousness still intact, he decides to take on the persona of his character, the powerful skeletal mage Ainz Ooal Gown, and rule over the world.
The soundtrack of Overlord is composed by Shuji Katayama and consists of a mix of orchestral and electronic music while the opening and ending themes by bands such as OxT and MYTH&ROID bring in catchy pop and rock tunes to the series. The opening theme “Clattanoia” by OxT is a high-energy rock song that perfectly captures the series’ action-packed and adventurous spirit. The ending theme “L.L.L.” by MYTH&ROID is a darker and more intense piece that complements the show’s darker moments.
The vinyl release by Kana Music will feature 19 tracks on a single LP which will include tracks from the first two seasons of the Overlord series. TV size versions of the opening and ending songs will be included on the disc.
