The first record, Galaxy Express 999: Theme Song Insert Song Collection is a reissue of the LP album first released in 1979 featuring theme songs and insert songs from the anime series.

The second record, Symphonic Poem Galaxy Express 999 was originally released in 1979 and contains a music collection from the Galaxy Express 999 movie.

Finally, Symphonic Poem Goodbye Galaxy Express 999 – Andromeda Terminal Station contains a music collection from the second theatrical movie. This two-disc album was originally released in 1981.
