The 2009 Mamoru Hosoda animated film Summer Wars is getting a vinyl soundtrack release by Sony Music. The sci-fi action film follows protagonist Kenji Koiso, a shy math whiz who gets swept into a grand adventure during a summer visit to his girlfriend’s family in the countryside. He ends up in a battle against a rogue AI, using his wit and intelligence to save the day.
The movie’s soundtrack, composed by Akihiko Matsumoto, will be pressed on a single vinyl disc and is currently available for pre-order in Japan with orders expected to ship June 2024. International buyers can order from the following sites:
