Mirai Original Soundtrack Limited Edition Vinyl LP

Mirai is a 2018 Japanese animated adventure fantasy comedy film written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda and produced by Studio Chizu (known for Belle, Wolf Children and The Boy and the Beast). The film stars the voices of Moka Kamishiraishi, Haru Kuroki and Gen Hoshino. It was met with critical acclaim and became nominated for an Academy Award in 2019 for Best Animated Feature Film. Additionally, the movie received an Annie Award in the same year.

Mirai is written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda and produced by Studio Chizu. The film follows the story of Kun, a four-year-old boy who is struggling to adjust to the arrival of his new baby sister, Mirai. One day, Kun runs away from home and stumbles upon a magical garden that serves as a time-traveling gateway. Through the garden, Kun meets his mother as a little girl, his grandfather as a young man, and his future self as a teenager. These encounters help Kun to understand his family’s history and to come to terms with the arrival of his new sister.

The film’s soundtrack was composed by Masakatsu Takagi, who has also composed for other Mamoru Hosoda films such as Wolf Children and The Boy and the Beast. Mirai is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on ‘pink blossom’ colored vinyl and includes a 4-page booklet.
