Microids Records is continuing its barrage of fire releases with the No Game No Life (Best Selection) LP. This album contains over 35 minutes of some of the best theme songs and music from the hit 2014 anime, including the opening theme ‘This Game’ and the ending theme ‘Oracion’ or ‘Prayer’.
No Game No Life is based on a light novel written by Yuu Kamiya. The story revolves around two socially withdrawn and highly intelligent siblings named Sora and Shiro, who are known in the gaming world as “Blank.” They consider the real world to be a dull and uninteresting place, finding solace and purpose in the virtual realm of games.
One day, they receive a mysterious email challenging them to a chess game, and after emerging victorious, they are transported to a fantastical world called Disboard. In Disboard, all conflicts are resolved through games, and the Ten Pledges govern the laws of the land. The siblings quickly learn that their expertise in gaming gives them an unprecedented advantage in this new world.
Driven by their desire to conquer Disboard and become the new rulers, Sora and Shiro set out on a journey, challenging the various races and factions that inhabit the land. Along the way, they encounter a diverse cast of characters, including Stephanie Dola, a princess from the human faction, and a quirky god of games named Tet.
