Fans of the classic Super Mario Bros. franchise have been clamoring for more video game vinyl releases from Nintendo for years. While this Super Mario Bros. Movie 2LP is not exactly a video game soundtrack, it does contain original Nintendo compositions and themes by Koji Kondo as well as the pieces created just for the movie by composer Brian Tyler.
This iam8bit release comes in two colorways: pink and yellow vinyl and red and green vinyl. The pink and yellow variant will be an iam8bit exclusive while the red and green variant will presumably see a wider distribution.
Pre-orders for the Super Mario Bros. Movie vinyl soundtrack go live tomorrow, April 7, 2023 at the iam8bit store. A cassette and CD versions of the album will also be available as well as a special 7″ containing the singles “Peaches” and “Mario Brothers Rap” by Jack Black and Ali Dee.
